Roulette Strategy
Roulette is an easy to learn casino game that involves betting on different number and color combinations which are determined by the spinning of a ball in a Roulette wheel. If you guess correctly as to the number of color that is selected by the ball, you win that round of play. There are a ton of different theories out there as to how to beat Roulette games but unfortunately there is no system that will guarantee a winning session at the tables since Roulette has random outcomes. That being said, there are two popular systems that can be used if you had an unlimited bankroll to play with, we have reviewed each below.
Martingale System
The Martingale System is definetely the most popular and well used system with regards to Roulette strategy however it’s very difficult to use if you have a limited bankroll which almost all players do. The system is simple, every time you win a bet you take that bet off the table and every time you lose a bet you double the previous wager. The idea behind this methodology is that you can never lose by doubling your wager if you lose as you will always recover any units previously lost if you keep following this system. The problem lies in the size of your bankroll, for example using Martingale if you were losing betting $25 per spin, you would need to bet $25, $50, $100, $200, $400, $800, $1,600 and so on. While you could say that you may not lose that many times in a row which may be true, it is possible and this is the main reason why this system is flawed unless you have literally an unlimited bankroll.
Cancellation System
The other popular method used in Roulette is the cancellation system which basically uses a series of numbers of determine how you will bet as follows. You start out by selecting your win goal in units, each unit represents one chip at any given level, so say you want to win 10 units betting $25 each round for a profit of $250. The next step is to right down ten ones in a row 1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1. Each 1 represents one betting unit that you want to win. Now to start out you always bet the sum of the first and last number on the page so to being 1+1 is 2 units or $50. If you win the bet, you cross a off the last number and would be left with 9 1’s left on your page. If you lose the bet, you add the sum of the first and last number to the end of the series so 1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,2 and would continue betting the sum of the first and last number so in this case, 1+2 is 3 units or $75. The premise behind this system is that eventually you will be able to cross all of the units off the page however once again you can see how this could become extremely expensive if you hit a bad losing streak. For this reason, this system is pretty hard to apply during play.
Other Roulette Strategies
Aside from the betting systems, the only real other strategies you can use for Roulette are table selection and playing smart bets. Always play at European Roulette tables where possible since they only have one 0 whereas American Roulette tables have both 0 and 00. Obviously having one less zero works to your advantage so if European is available that’s where you should be playing.
The other thing you should consider is how you are going to bet during the game. The hardest bets to make are single number bets (ex. Ball lands on red 9) and this bet pays out 35:1. Although that may be an attractive long shot bet, it’s not going to be a winner in the long run and your best bet is to stick with betting on Red or Black which pays out 1:1 but is almost 50/50 to win.
