TheScore Bet is the sportsbook app of theScore Inc., a Canadian sports media company. It’s currently available in New Jersey, Colorado, Indiana and Iowa, with plans to extend into a number of other US states. The company has a multi-state access deal with Penn National Gaming, so this expansion could be pretty fast.

TheScore Bet sign-up bonus
Once you’ve created your account on theScore Bet app, you’ll be eligible for its two-part welcome bonus. This consists of a deposit match bonus with a twist, and a bonus first bet up to $500.
The deposit match offer will 100% match your first deposit on the site — minimum of $10 — up to $1,000. You’ll need to unlock this cash in order to use it, which is where the sportsbook’s cashback system comes in. We’ll explain more about that shortly.
The second offer on the site is the bonus bet, up to a maximum of $500. This applies to your first bet on the site, and if that bet loses, you’ll receive a refund in the form of a bonus bet.

How the bonus works
Online sportsbooks sometimes launch two- or even three-part welcome offers for new players, but this one from theScore Bet is a little different. Qualifying stays the same, though — use our link to head to the sportsbook website and download the correct app for your device. Use any necessary code during the registration process.
The first offer you’ll receive from the sportsbook is the deposit match bonus. This means theScore will match your first funds on the site up to a maximum of $1,000. You will then need to unlock the bonus amount by wagering, using theScore’s cashback system. This is where things get a little different.
For every bet you place at theScore, 5% of the wager will unlock from your bonus amount. Eligible bets must be straight or parlay wagers with odds of -300 or higher. Say you wager $100 on the site; $5 of your bonus funds will be unlocked as cash to bet or withdraw. You have 60 days to release the bonus, and you lose out on any funds that are still locked after that.
The second offer you’ll receive is the bonus bet. This means if your first bet loses, the sportsbook will provide you with a bonus bet to match your original wager, up to $500. If your fist bet wins, you don’t get the refund, but you can continue betting as normal.
Other promotions at theScore Bet
We expect to see big promotions from theScore to match its welcome offer in the near future, with some offers potentially personalized to your betting preferences. While this is being set up, theScore has one current promotion for players to try:
- Parlay insurance: Parlay protection is growing in popularity with online sportsbooks. When you build a parlay of four legs or more, the bet will be backed with $10 worth of insurance. This means that if you miss one leg of your bet, you’ll receive up to $10.
Where is theScore legal?
TheScore has been around since the mid ’90s, but its sportsbook product, theScore Bet, launched pretty recently. The app launched first in New Jersey, followed by Colorado, then Indiana and Iowa.
In NJ, the sportsbook is partnered with Monmouth Park Racetrack. In Colorado, theScore’s retail partner is The Gilpin Casino. A long-term deal with Penn National Gaming then opened up markets in Indiana and Iowa. This deal will open as many as 10 other states to theScore in the near future.
You need to be 21 or older to create an account at theScore. The app verifies your age via your Social Security number and uses geolocation technology to check your location. TheScore is regulated by the applicable gambling board in each state.

TheScore Bet app review
TheScore’s sportsbook app utilizes software from Bet.Works. It’s a fast, easy-to-navigate and fun sports betting app with plenty of sports and betting options for players to choose from.
The app’s main menu will help you browse and choose a sport from what’s available. You’ll also see a menu to help you access the sportsbook’s cashier, promotions page, account settings and support.
Click a sport to view all live and upcoming events. A small list of odds for each will display as default, with the option to expand the list to view alternative lines.
What sets this sportsbook app apart, however, is its integration with theScore’s original news app. This means you can access sports news at the click of a button, before, during and after placing your bets. You can even build your bets in the original app before moving over to the Bet product.
Best features of theScore Bet
There’s a number of fun and distinctive features theScore is adding to its sportsbook. We’ve listed a couple of our favorites here:
- Personalization: TheScore puts your preferences at the forefront of its app. This will pick up on your betting habits, suggest events you’re most likely to be interested in and offer personalized promos to accompany the games. You’ll also be able to see how bets are polling among other users, helping you make your wagers.
- Two-part welcome offer: You’ll receive a deposit match bonus to boost your funds on the site, as well as a bonus bet up to $500.
- Integration: TheScore has two apps — the original sports news app and the sportsbook app. Users can switch between the two to access the best of both products.
- Range of betting options and sports: TheScore offers all the biggest US leagues and sports, with great betting options to match. Look for parlays, futures, live bets and more to keep your sports betting interesting and varied.
Betting options at theScore Sportsbook
TheScore offers a pretty good selection of betting options for a relatively new product. When you choose a sport from the app’s main menu, you’ll usually see moneylines, totals and point spreads as default. You can click to expand an individual game, however, to view alternative betting lines.
Pregame, live and futures bets are all available at theScore. To access live betting, click the green “Live” button within the app’s main menu. This will display all current games as well as upcoming games open to live betting.
A small number of futures are available for some sports. These long-term wagers give you the chance to bet on season winners, player awards and team outcomes.
The “Bet” page is a fantastic personalized tool for players who have been betting at theScore for a while. This will help you choose the events and bets most suited to your preferences, as well as offer exclusive promotions to match.
The “My bets” tab works as your betting slip. Here, you can add wagers to your bets, track ongoing bets and take a look at your previous bets.
Sports available at theScore Bet
TheScore offers a variety of sports to match its betting options. Choose from a range of US pro leagues, including the NBA, MLB, NFL and NHL. TheScore also offers lines on college football and college basketball.
You’ll find the most lines on the most popular leagues, such as the NBA and NFL, though a variety of other sports will also have wagers to choose from. Expect heavy coverage of the biggest events, such as the Super Bowl and March Madness. Sports like golf, boxing, tennis and MMA are also available.
It would be great to find more international leagues at theScore Bet in the future, as many have been overlooked. We assume this will improve with time.
Banking methods at theScore Bet
Secure and fast payment options are available at theScore Bet’s cashier, including e-wallet, prepaid card and online banking. To start a deposit or withdrawal, open the cashier from your account page within the app.

Withdrawals at the casino cage are currently only available in New Jersey. Users of theScore Bet NJ can make an appointment at Monmouth Park Racetrack to withdraw funds. You’ll need to bring ID with you to take cash out of your account.

Customer support at theScore
TheScore offers customer support on both its app and desktop site. Start by browsing the FAQ page, which is fairly detailed and covers a number of categories, including banking, account settings, house rules and responsible gambling.
To speak to customer support directly, choose email or phone. TheScore hasn’t set up live chat support yet, which we would like to see happen. For now, here are your options:
- Email: [email protected]

Background of theScore
TheScore started as a sports TV channel in 1994. The channel was entirely text-based at first, displaying all ongoing and upcoming games, as well as odds for each. In later years, the channel introduced presenters to talk through events.
TheScore launched its first app in 2012 as part of a push on digital sports content. This included sports news and betting content for users. TheScore’s sportsbook, theScore Bet, launched in 2019. The product first arrived in New Jersey.
The sportsbook is now also live in Indiana, Colorado and Iowa, and is likely to expand further thanks to a deal with Penn National Gaming. Players can now switch between theScore and theScore Bet at the touch of a button, providing a well-rounded collection of sports news and betting odds to users.
