Baywatch Slot is an online video slots game made by IGT gaming. It’s based on the original Baywatch show – the one with Pamela Anderson and David Hasselhoff. I’ll admit it – I was a huge fan of the show and that’s part of the reason I wanted to check out this game. Then, I noticed it’s by IGT, a company known for great graphics and creative wilds and bonuses. I feel like a winner and I hadn’t even spun the reels yet!

About Baywatch Slots

The game is based on a popular TV show, so you’d expect that the graphics and individual icons bring the characters back to life. You’ll see all your favorites from the show, plus beach-inspired icons like the Wave (which is the wild symbol) and the iconic lifeguard post. There’s also the rescue boat, the ATV for the beach, and the life preserver that you’d always see the characters tuck underneath their arm before running to the rescue. All in all, the designers do a great job of making the game immersive.

Getting Started – How the Game Works

This game is pretty straightforward to start. It’s three rows, five reels, with 15 total paylines. I actually like online slots with fewer paylines – it’s easier to tell right away when you win. Moving on, the simple layout makes the game more interactive. Then, you simply place your bets from 50 to 75,000 coins) and hit spin.

All the controls and stats are at the bottom, making it easier to manage. Baywatch Slots also has an auto spin feature, and it’s customizable, so you can set a certain number of turns. However, bear in mind that not every location allows autoplay or online slots, especially if you’re using real money, so double-check the regulations where you live.

The main gameplay is a match-three or more, with the ocean wave being the wild. The four lifeguards are the top winners – David Haselhoff is of course the highest, which I loved – and the equipment are the lower ones. Even the dune buggy, the lowest icon, pays out 5x for a match-three, so almost every spin can be a winner. Five ‘Hoffs, on the other hand, will pay out a whopping 100x!

Baywatch Slots Extra Features

Within both the regular gameplay and bonus round are a few extra features, too:

  • Teamwork, which triggers on any base game spin. All the lifeguards transform into a combined symbol for a bigger bonus
  • Wild Waves, a symbol that substitutes for anything on the board except the bonus
  • Tidal Wilds, a randomly triggered Wild Card. In this one, the wild expands to fill the entire reel. Plus, it expands horizontally and can take over an additional row
  • Free Spins, triggered by three or more Scatter Symbols in reels 2,3, and 4. The free spins trigger with a 2x multiplier and launch the bonus round

Bonus Round of Baywatch Slots

I mentioned that the Lifeguard Stand was in the mix earlier. It’s actually the trigger for bonus rounds in Baywatch Slots. The bonus here is free spins – there aren’t any free spins in the main gameplay. Here’s how the bonus works.

First, you select one male and one female lifeguard for your team. Each one has different features:

  • David Hasselhoff: 3-5 free spins, and More Stacks
  • David Chokachi: 7-12 free spins, and More Spins
  • Pamela Anderson: 3-6 free spins, and More Spins
  • Yasmine Bleeth: 7-12 free spins, and More Spins

Once you’ve picked your “dream team,” then the game reveals exactly what your bonus is. The characters with More Stacks award reels with that character symbols in 2-high stacks. The characters that have More Spins will result in a higher number of free spins. Obviously, there’s a little more strategy in here, but I like the fact that this slots game gives you a little bit of input into how you want your bonus to work, instead of just randomly giving you the spins. The point of the bonus is to emphasize the teamwork aspect of the show. In the bonus rounds, only the two lifeguards that you select will appear on the reels. This, obviously, can give you a better chance of matching more often.

Where To Play Baywatch Slots

If you’re simply wishing to play for fun, many online casino sites have Baywatch Slots. However, a few US states allow you to play online for real money. New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and West Virginia all allow online gambling. Make sure to check the websites to ensure that the casino is legal and regulated. Some great sites, that run smoothly and are legal and regulated are Bet MGM, which is the long version of MGM Grand casino, Tropicana Casino, Golden Nugget, and DraftKings Casino. Each of these four sites has the Baywatch Slots online game.

Final Thoughts About Baywatch Slots

If it wasn’t obvious, I’m a big fan of this game. I loved the old TV show, and it’s a fun bit of nostalgia to see my favorite characters again. I enjoy slots that are immersive with the theme, yet still have the fun and excitement of a typical slots game. I liked the bonus feature, combining stacks and spins, with a little bit of input from the player. The payouts were actually pretty good, especially in the bonus rounds, and I’ll probably play this game often. It’s also optimized for mobile gameplay, which is great, especially for longer commutes or boring Zoom meetings.
