[toc]Comedian and movie star Kevin Hart announced a partnership with PokerStars shortly after playing the €100,000 Super High Roller event in Monte Carlo.
Hart and PokerStars Pro Daniel Negreanu joined up for a press conference after the tournament to announce the partnership between the world’s most successful comedian and the world’s largest online poker site.
Make poker fun again
Hart and Negreanu said that the comedian wanted to “make poker fun again.”
“I really do believe in bringing people closer together,” said Hart. “I love the fact that poker is a game that can take people all over the world and sit them down at the table and give them the opportunity to engage, to converse, to get to know each other and walk away with relationships they never knew they could have. I love to live, love and laugh. I want to bring this energy to the game of poker. And when I do this, poker will be elevated.”
Negreanu says that Hart is not playing a comedic role when he has fun at the poker tables. It is simply his natural personality.
Hart said he was coming up with ideas to improve the fun of poker and liven up the action. He wouldn’t reveal anything further though.
“I am going to make poker fun, and working with PokerStars will give me the poker platform I need to do this,” Hart said.
“I’m glad there are all these poker pros here who I can compete with and take their money. But the best thing about poker is that anyone can play it, whether you’re making millions like Daniel Negreanu or just sitting around the kitchen table playing for coins.”
Kevin Hart has a history with poker
Hart has been playing poker for years, though mostly home games with his friends. However, given that Forbes named Hart richest comedian of 2015/16, his home games are a little different than most.
Last year, Instagram star Dan Bilzarian posted a photo of a home game which included Hart. The comedian said it was “a fun gambling game.”
In addition to his time in Monte Carlo, Hart played at the year’s first PokerStars Championship in the Bahamas in January. He is also set to star in a televised cash game that will air later this year. The line-up features Hart as well as Negreanu, Liv Boeree, Faraz Jaka, and other pros.
